This week, we look at the fun word “Catholic,” which most people think is just shorthand for the Roman Catholic Church. But the word itself actually refers to the universal Church. The one, holy, catholic church is not headquartered in Rome and salvation can be found in other Christian churches besides the Roman Catholic institution. Let’s not let Rome claim the word “catholic” all for themselves, let’s use it properly to refer to what is universally Christian.
