So we have a season to help us do that. Lenten fasting and disciplines are great. But do them so that you get yourself out of the way, so Lent can be about watching Jesus go to the cross for you.

The truth is, we think we’re good people…but we’re not. We’re self-centered, we’re unfaithful, we’re…not good. If God really gave us what we deserved, it’d be a real hot mess. We are saved by the Unfairness of God. He doesn’t treat us as we deserve. He gives us forgiveness, life, and salvation…His unmerited favor. That He is good to us in this life at all is unfair.
