When you’re free, you can do things freely, not to justify ourselves but for the sake of others.

Alcohol is a gift from God — in its proper place, at the proper time. If there are no laws prohibiting it, then you’re free to use your judgement wisely. But if there are laws prohibiting it for people until they’re a certain age, then you should respect the law of the land. And violation of it is sinful because it breaks the 4th Commandment.

At the last supper, when Jesus took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to the disciples…in that cup was NOT grape juice. It was wine. “Grape juice” didn’t even exist in the ancient world. That’s how He instituted it. Things get changed because we worry about alcoholism, drinking, etc. Alcohol was given by God as a gift. The sin to watch out for is drunkenness.

First, the Lord told us there’d be wars and rumors of wars until His returns. This shouldn’t surprise us. Second, all of this occurs in the context of the Father who loves us in the giving up of His Son. We don’t live in a universe where God doesn’t care for us. Expect it to get worse before the end. But in the end, when it can’t get worse, He comes for us, to save us.
